Have I mentioned to you how much I am starting to really fall in love with Tarrytown?
It has my new favorite coffee hub, Coffee Labs Roasters. They can make kitty cats in their foam, which if you ask me, makes them the best latte artist in the world. I mean come on, who wouldn't want to lick a kittens face while simultaneously drinking a creamy strong latte?
Tyler and I have been making it our duty to try out every single restaurant in the little town. They are all pretty overpriced, which makes it hard on our wallets. So when we came across a new restaurant in town that happened to be fairly priced, we hopped on in.
The Village Dog is build your own hot dog place. Not just a build-your-own hot dog place though. They are making all of their sausages themselves! They use all local ingredients and have a mission to make unique and season dog combos.
While we waited for our dogs, Tyler got a homemade watermelon and lime soda.
Our food came promptly. I ordered their veggie dog made with quinoa and greens from Union Square Green Market. Tyler got the lamb merguez with tzatziki. We of course had to get sweet potato fries with their house made ketchup. The sweet potato fries were sadly not crispy at all, which was the only downside.
The dogs were delicious and I loved their spin on the tradition dog.
My veggie dog came with seasonal slaw and lemon aoili.
After a tasty lunch Tyler took me on a long walk through Stone Barn Farms, where he has been working.
I fell in love with this big fella. I officially want a pig on our future farm.
Fun fact: the reason pigs roll around in mud to create a natural sunscreen because their skin is very susceptible to getting sunburned.
lots of cows!
I am definitely planning a run later on in the fall around the property.
The restaurant is in that stone building. Surrounded my gardens, its so breathtaking.
We happened to see a wedding that they were setting up for. I could not imagine how beautiful it would be to get married at a place like this. If only we could afford it!
I CAN NOT WAIT to eat at Blue Hill at Stone Barnes when Tyler is done with his externship in December!!
