I spent the weekend in NYC meeting Tyler's mom, little sister and grandma. We laughed, ate incredible food and made solid first impression memories.
I was a bit nervous to meet the ladies in Tyler's life, but was so anxious to meet the girls that he loves so much.
It went perfectly. I felt comfortable immediately and through out the weekend felt like I was gaining a new mom, grandma and little sister.
Ahhh :)

I couldn't snap photos of it all but we ate at the following restaurants:
Shake Shack
Coffee at Eataly
Corsino Cantina
Waffles and Dinges
Mas La Grillade
Flex Mussels
Arielle
All of those places in three days.... my body is in total shock from all the food, but over indulging was completely worth it.
I can't believe I don't eat burgers more often. Well, I know why I don't, but they are absolutely delicious. Tyler and I shared the peanut butter shake along with our burgers and fries. I have never tasted anything better than that peanut butter shake. Thick, creamy, peanut buttery to the max. HEAVEN.
Eataly for coffee. We all got different specialty espressos. I ordered Espresso Con Panna, Tyler ordered a Double Espresso with Hazelnut Mousse and his mom ordered Espresso with Foamed Milk and Hazelnut Liqueur.

I've heard a lot about this little cart and was tickled pink when it was parked outside of Eataly. We obviously had to try one. We got a waffle with Speculoos spread. Speculoos spread is a blend of gingerbread and graham crackers....Best part? You can buy it online! I am already day dreaming of eating it with apples.
If you are in the NYC area....you really need to get your hands on one of these.
Tyler and I after the best lunch at Mas La Grillade.
After lunch at Mas La Grillade we spontaneously ran to Time Square to catch a Broadway Show.
We saw Sister Act!
It was hilarious. It's so much more fun to watch a live show compared to a movie. I loved it!
I didn't want to snap photos in the middle of all of your nice sit down meals, but our last meal in the city at Flex Mussels was so awesome that I couldn't resist pulling out my iphone to snap a photo for ya'll.
On one wall is a beautiful brightly lit picture.
We started with the "Burnt Fingers": calamari, fried shrimp an fried oysters with chili aioli.

The menu has about 15 different types of Mussels.
His Grandma ordered the roast chicken with fries. She's not a huge fan of mussels.
I ordered the Thai: coconut milk, lemon grass, curry and kaffir lime leaves.
Tyler ordered the Fungi: mushrooms, bacon and cream.
His mom ordered the Bisque: Lobster, cream and brandy.
His sister ordered the Parma: Parmesan Cream, garlic and crispy shallots.
I have to say, his little sister has never had mussels and she ordered them despite her apprehensiveness about them! I was so proud of her for trying something new. SHE LOVED IT. It made me so happy that she expanded her foodie horizons.
Everything came with french fries....which was a plus.

We ordered doughnuts with different fillings. Nutella, Salted Caramel, Raspberry Cheesecake and Meyer Lemon Curd.
Oh and this ball of heaven...
Deep Fried Whoopie Pie with Espresso Ice Cream. It was better than it looked. Impressive to the max.
I can't believe how much we ate and how much we all enjoyed every bite and every moment.
I could not imagine a more perfect weekend. I am so blessed and lucky. I have a permanent grin on my face.
I can't believe the weekend is over.
I can't wait for the next visit!
I'm off to go on a nice long run to make up for some of the treats from the weekend.
What was it like to meet your significant other's family for the first time?
